Das Aufgabengebiet beinhaltet die Betrachtung von Stabilisierungs- und Reformprozessen in der Eurozone und die Analyse der Economic Governance der Europäischen Union unter Berücksichtigung mitgliedstaatlicher Interessen und ökonomischer, gesellschaftlicher und politischer Rahmenbedingungen. Expertise zur Europa- und Innenpolitik Frankreichs oder südeuropäischer Mitgliedstaaten der EU ist erwünscht.

Das ÖSFK führt Ausbildung, Forschung und Friedenserziehung zur friedlichen Konfliktlösung durch. Diesbezügliche Aktivitäten betreffen die lokale, regionale und internationale Ebene. Außerdem engagiert sich das ÖSFK in Maßnahmen der stillen Diplomatie (second track diplomacy).
Der/die Direktor/in bildet die operative Schnittstelle zwischen Vorstand und insbes. den wiss. Mitarbeitern des ÖSFK. Ihm/ihr obliegt die Leitung des Personals sowie das wissenschaftliche und operative Management des ÖSFK.

Sie besitzen versierte wissenschaftliche und praktische Kenntnisse im Fachgebiet Politikwissen-schaft und können Bezüge zum Themenfeld politische Kommunikation bzw. Public Affairs herstellen, die in dem Department, in dem Sie tätig werden, zentral sind.
Sie sollte darüber hinaus umfassende Erfahrung in der Hochschullehre oder der beruflichen Aus- und Weiterbildung vorweisen können.

Lehre
Das Lehrgebiet erstreckt sich über Grundlagen der Politikwissenschaft, berücksichtigt gleichermaßen Aspekte der politischen Kommunikation. Die künftige Professorin/der künftige Professor kann in diesem Bereich eigene Schwerpunkte setzen bzw. eigene Themenfelder belegen.
Dies beinhaltet neben dem selbstständigen Unterricht im Rahmen vorgegebener Lehrdeputate etwa die Koordination und Planung entsprechender Kurse oder die Konzeption und Weiterentwicklung des angeleiteten Selbststudiums an der Hochschule.
Zu den weiteren Aufgaben der Professorin/des Professors gehören unter anderem die Be-treuung und die Beratung der Studierenden, Abnahme von Prüfungen, Betreuung von Ab-schlussarbeiten und Mitwirkung an Eignungsfeststellungs- und Auswahlverfahren. Die Pro-fessorin/der Professor arbeitet aktiv in den Gremien der akademischen Selbstverwaltung mit.

Hochschulleben
Die Professorinnen und Professoren der Hochschule wirken in den Gremien der akademi-schen Selbstverwaltung mit. Die Hochschule bemüht sich um ein Hochschulleben mit vielfältigen inhaltlichen und sozialen Impulsen, etwa anhand von Abendveranstaltungen, einem Alumni-Netzwerk, eigenen Tagungen usw. ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability is an association of 1,200 local governments in 68 countries that are dedicated to sustainable development. It has 15 offices servicing its members while developing innovative projects and events and is an international not-for-profit association and network perceived as the international representative of cities for sustainability. The European Secretariat is based in Freiburg, Germany.
The European Secretariat of ICLEI - Local Governments for Sustainability seeks to fill the position of an Officer Communication with its Communication and Membership Relations team.
The Communication and Membership Relations team coordinates all necessary promotion, marketing and communication activities to shape ICLEI’s as well as a project’s visibility to the outside world. This includes organising and supporting events from the initial idea to the final realisation and reporting, as well as representing ICLEI through all modern communication and information channels. The Communication and Membership Relations team is also the portal for ICLEI’s membership relations.

RegPol² trains 16 young researchers, 13 Early Stage Researchers (ESR – PhD) and 3 Experienced Researchers (ER – PostDoc), for careers in academia, public administration, NGOs and the private sector. It aims (1) to educate self-reflexive specialists in complex multi-agent decision making for regional policy under uncertain framework conditions; (2) to train young researchers in better understanding regional polarisation and interrelated policymaking processes in different contexts and in communicating relevant information for decision making; (3) to raise the employability of trained researchers due to better knowledge of different disciplinary and cultural planning and policy traditions in the EU.

The 13 ESR- and 3 ER-projects include intersectoral secondments, local and network-wide transferable, theoretical as well as methodological skills trainings. Das Leibniz-Zentrum für Marine Tropenökologie (www.zmt-bremen.de) ist ein selbständiges Forschungs- und Lehrinstitut, in dem wissenschaftliche Grundlagen für den Schutz und die nachhaltige Nutzung tropischer Küstenökosysteme geschaffen werden. An der Universität Potsdam, Wirtschafts- und Sozialwissenschaftliche Fakultät sind im Rahmen des Sonderforschungsbereichs 700 (Governance in Räumen begrenzter Staatlichkeit) möglichst zum 15.03.2014 bzw. 01.04.2014 zwei Stellen als Akademische Mitarbeiter/innen (Kenn-Nr. 162/2013 oder 163/2013) mit einer wöchentlichen Arbeitszeit von je 26 Stunden befristet bis 31.12.2017 zu besetzen. Die Stellen sind für das Teilprojekt "'Talk and Action'. Wie internationale Organisationen auf Räume begrenzter Staatlichkeit reagieren" von Andrea Liese ausgeschrieben.
Das Projekt fragt nach der (Um)deutung der Konzepte von Staatlichkeit und Governance in internationalen Organisationen, die sich um Ernährungssicherheit bemühen. Dabei unterscheidet das Projekt Selbstbeschreibungen und organisationale Praxis (talk and action) und untersucht, ob die hier jeweils zum Ausdruck kommenden Deutungen in Spannung zueinander stehen. Das Teilprojekt untersucht zudem, ob und inwiefern die Deutung von der Erfahrung mit der (versuchten) Bereitstellung von Governance-Leistungen in Räumen begrenzter Staatlichkeit beeinflusst sind, transnationale Leitlinien bedienen oder von beidem unabhängig sind.

The Research College (Kolleg-Forschergruppe) "The Transfomative Power of Europe. The European Union and the Diffusion of Ideas", directed by Profs. Tanja A. Area of responsibility includes:

• Serve as co-project manager of dataset and documentation production for the Comparative Study of Electoral Systems (CSES), and co-manager of CSES operations.
• Conduct your own research, publish internationally and present your research at conferences

Provide input into the development of the macro data for the project, including the availability of macro data and the validity, reliability, and methodology of the sources that are under consideration. Enough, a project of the Center for American Progress, has an immediate opening for a Policy Associate. The Policy Associate will be responsible for researching the political and conflict dynamics primarily in the Republic of Sudan and secondarily in the Republic of South Sudan, analyzing U.S. government and international policy related to these conflicts and contributing to Enough’s strategy papers, reports, and other publications. Additionally, the Associate will contribute to research and reporting production for the Satellite Sentinel Project. Postdoctoral Fellowship, The Human Rights Program

The Human Rights Program at the University of California, Berkeley is seeking applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow/Lecturer position for the 2014-2015 academic year.

We are seeking an academic who is currently engaged in research on the historical and theoretical foundations of human rights. The minimum qualification required to be considered an applicant for the position is to have completed all degree requirements except the dissertation by application. Additionally, a Ph.D. or equivalent in a relevant field in the humanities or social sciences received by the start date.

Applications must include a CV, a statement on teaching experience (1000 word maximum), a statement on human rights research experience and the research proposed for the fellowship period (1000 word maximum), and two letters of recommendation.

Awards will be announced by early March. Selection will be based on candidates’ demonstrated potential to enrich human rights teaching and research at Berkeley.

Appointment will be for one academic year as a Postdoctoral Fellow and Lecturer, with the possibility of a one-year renewal for 2015-16. The fellow will be expected to participate in human rights research seminars and colloquia on campus. The fellow will also teach one course per year and advise undergraduate and graduate students on their human rights projects. Salary range will be $39,264 – $44,340, depending on years of experience, and includes medical benefits for the candidate and dependents. Fellows will be provided $5,000 in research funds and a $1,500 computer and technology allowance. The position will be tenable as of July 1, 2014, and fellows are required to be in residence from August 15, 2014 to May 31, 2015.

Eligible applicants may not hold a tenure-track position, and fellows may not have any other appointment during the fellowship period. Applications from international scholars are accepted, but fellowship awards are contingent upon eligibility to work legally in the United States. If necessary, Berkeley will sponsor the scholar for a J-1 visa.

To date little research attention has been paid to the position of older people in societies emerging from conflict and yet they form an increasingly significant proportion of the population and both impact on and are impacted by the ongoing societal transformation. Internationally increasing focus is being placed by aid organisations on the different needs of older people affected by war and natural disasters. Locally, some recent research (Jamieson, Shirlow and Grounds, 2010) has looked at ageing and social exclusion among former politically motivated prisoners in Northern Ireland and refers to Northern Ireland’s ageing ‘conflict generation’. Researchers in INCORE (International Conflict Research) and in the Peace and Conflict Research Group in the Psychology Institute are hoping to develop more research into the position of older people in societies emerging from conflict with a view to understanding the particular issues they face as well as the contribution they make.

This lectureship is intended to provide research-informed teaching and related research activity in the Institute. You must have (or be close to completing) a PhD in History or a relevant Humanities discipline, and have a record of (or potential to produce publications in internationally recognised outlets. Relevant areas of research include (but are not limited to) the history of humanitarian intervention including the role played by NGOs, governmental and inter-governmental organisations in situations of conflict, disasters, population displacements, famines and/or their aftermath. Experience of engaging with the NGO sector, through research and/or education would be highly desirable. Experience of curriculum design, successful applications for research funding, post-graduate teaching and the supervision of research students are also desirable.

You will be expected to contribute to the Institute’s MAs and programmes in the institute as appropriate. You will be invited to offer an advanced undergraduate course unit in modern history as part of the history programmes.

Content of Work:

• Teach at least 2 specialized courses for undergraduate students. One of the courses should cover extensive issues related to ‘International Political Economy’ such as international trade and financial systems, political economy of development and environments. The other course should cover issues on 'Comparative Politics' such as comparing welfare state regimes, a wave of democratization, and the relation between the state and market in democracies.
• Teach at least 1 basic foundations course (‘Introduction to Politics and International Relations’) for undergraduate students.
• Conduct specialized seminars for 3rd and 4th year students.
• Participate in educational and administrative activities organized by the Faculty.
• Conduct research in applicant’s research field.

All research and related activities, including grants, donations, clinical trials, contract research, consultancy and commercialisation are required to be managed through the University's relevant processes (e.g. contractual and financial), in accordance with the University Court's policies.

The Department of International Relations at Özyeğin University invites applications for two posts at assistant professor level to begin in September 2014. We are interested in candidates with an ability to teach International Relations core courses, such as International Relations theory and quantitative research methods. As a department, we are seeking to strengthen our specialisation in the following areas: security studies, migration, and Middle Eastern Studies.
