Die gesuchte Person arbeitet im vom Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ) finanzierten Projekt „Die Rolle der Vereinten Nationen in der globalen Entwicklungsarchitektur: Innere und äußere Anforderungen.“ Ausgangspunkt sind die Ergebnisse vorhergehender Projektphasen und der Forschungsstand zu den Reformbedarfen Vereinten Nationen (VN), den laufenden Reformbemühungen und den weitergehenden Reformvorschlägen im Entwicklungsbereich. Die folgenden Fragekomplexe sollen bearbeitet werden: (i) Begleitung des Prozesses zur Erarbeitung der Post-2015 Entwicklungsagenda: (ii) Untersuchung eventueller Anpassungsbedarfe im Entwicklungssystem der VN: (iii) Begleitung eines möglichen Reformprozesses („fit for purpose“). Ziel des Projektes ist es, auf der Basis der Forschungsergebnisse das BMZ bei der Formulierung seiner VN-Politik zu unterstützen

Since 2009 GIZ International Services has been commissioned by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) to provide technical support in the training of trainers. The Technical Trainers College (TTC) Riyadh was established by GIZ in the same year and the first class of trainers graduated in June of 2012; many of which are currently being integrated into the existing TVET-System. To ensure the sustainability of the TTC approach, GIZ has been commissioned to establish and manage a new College of Applied Technology with an In-Service Training Center (ISTC) in Yanbu on the Red Sea. The College began operating in September of 2012 and has employed a number of the newly graduated TTC trainers. Particular emphasis has been placed on the continuous technical and didactical guidance of the Junior Trainers, as well as the implementation of an English medium college; the first of its kind within the TVTC system. All accepted trainees are expected to complete a preparatory year in which they prepare for a full English-medium technical education.

Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service, invites applications for a Lectureship in Political Science/International Relations. The position is a full-time one semester appointment, with possibility for renewal, beginning in January 2015. This position is based in the Madrid Campus (Spain). We are seeking to appoint a specialist in international security/ conflict resolution with an area focus in either of the following regions: Asia, Africa or Europe.

The candidate will be asked to offer and develop courses in international security (theories and issues), war and the use of force, conflict resolution and one area study course in his or her area of specialism. The teaching load will be set at three courses per semester, six courses per year total, taught within our established B.A. in International Relations Program. The School seeks to appoint an Assistant Professor in Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation to teach mainly at postgraduate level on its Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation MPhil programme, under the overall direction of the Head of Department and in consultation with the Course Coordinator. The post is based in the ISE campus Belfast. As well as teaching on the MPhil, the appointed person will be expected to supervise MPhil dissertations and participate across the range of the School’s activities, attending the Dublin campus of ISE and Trinity College as necessary.

The successful candidate will be a person with expertise in the social/political sciences or religious studies/theology or other relevant discipline, with an interest in conflict resolution, peace studies or reconciliation. The Department of Politics and International Studies is seeking to appoint a Lecturer from September 2014 to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in International Organisation, Human Rights and Conflict, and the Politics of Transitional Justice.

The successful candidate should have a PhD and demonstrated teaching experience. You will have a solid understanding both of theories of International Relations and of empirical issues relevant to International Institutions, Conflict, and Human Rights. You will be required to advise undergraduate and postgraduate students on their dissertations and to undertake the usual duties (e.g., holding office hours, marking coursework and exams) associated with being a member of an academic department. You will also assist in managing an International Relations Speaker Series that meets in the evenings.
