The Berghof Foundation is an independent, non-governmental and non-profit organization dedicated to supporting efforts for achieving sustainable peace through research, practice and education, complementing them with targeted strategic grant-making. The Foundation's head office is located in Berlin, Germany. Project and partner offices are currently located in Bangkok, La Paz, Beirut and Sana'a. Our team includes staff from several countries and maintains working relations with partners around the globe.

Based on our experiences with supporting national dialogue and political transition processes in a number of MENA countries (Lebanon, Yemen, Sudan), the Berghof Foundation will start supporting a project that aims at promoting federalism through a local government dialogue in Somalia. In order to manage and co-steer this project, we are searching for a Senior Project Manager Somalia (100%) for a period of 24 months (further extension is possible)

The project will most likely start in December 2014 (pending on the approval for funding by the project donor). The position is based in Berlin, but requires extensive travel to Nairobi and different regions of Somalia. The senior project manager works closely together with our project team based in Kenya. He or she will report to the Berghof Programme Director MENA region.

Main Tasks

• To manage and co-steer the project in collaboration with the team in Berlin and the project team in Kenya
• To give guidance and expert advice to counterparts and project main target groups
• To ensure proper documentation and reporting to the project donors
• To liaise regularly with respective partners and donors
• To contribute to concept development related to Peace Infrastructures and National Dialogues

Qualifications

• Proven expertise and work experience in Africa (minimum of 5 years)
• Excellent knowledge and work experience in the field of political transitions and governance

Das IASS ist gemeinsam mit dem Potsdam Institut für Klimafolgenforschung (PIK) und der Universität Hamburg Projektpartner des Projektes CEMICS (Climate Engineering im Kontext von Emissionsminderungsstrategien: Illusion, Komplement oder Substitut?), das im Rahmen des DFG Schwerpunktprogramms 1689 zum Thema "Climate Engineering: Risks, Challenges, Opportunities?" gefördert wird. Eine entscheidende Frage in diesem Projekt ist es, unter welchen ethisch-entscheidungstheoretischen Vorbedingungen verschiedene CE-Optionen Eingang in ein Portfolio von Handlungsoptionen finden sollten.

The Department of Politics, History and International Relations at Loughborough University seeks to appoint a nine-month fixed term Lecturer in Politics from 1 January 2015. We particularly welcome applicants with research and teaching specialisms in Comparative Politics and/or International Political Economy. You will be expected to contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Politics and International Relations, and to complement and enhance the Department's existing reputation for world-class, innovative scholarship.

The American University of Beirut invites applicants for a position in gender and sexuality studies, preferably at the associate or full professor level, to begin fall 2015. The successful applicant will serve as director of the new Women and Gender Studies Program at the American University of Beirut and work to coordinate the development of gender and sexuality studies as a specific research concentration, as well as a transdisciplinary formation distributed across multiple departments and faculties. We seek candidates with demonstrated teaching, research, and administrative experience; as well as applicants whose research engages feminist approaches to the study of gender and sexuality. The program, which will include an MA, aspires to develop research and curricula that reflect the distinct experiences and practices of the greater Arab/Muslim world. The director will also have a professorial academic appointment in an appropriate department.

The NATO Parliamentary Assembly employs ten research assistants every year. Das Center for Global Politics der Freien Universität Berlin unter Leitung von Prof. Dr. Klaus Segbers bietet gemeinsam mit der Politikwissenschaftlichen Fakultät des MGIMO in Moskau ein einjähriges deutschsprachiges Begleitstudium „German Studies Russia“ (GSR) an, das aus Mitteln des DAAD gefördert wird.Ab Februar 2015 ist für fünf Monate die Position eines/r ProjektmitarbeiterIn/TutorIn „Wirtschaft“ am MGIMO in Moskau zu besetzen. Eine Verlängerung bis zum Jahresende ist gegebenenfalls möglich. Das Stellenprofil umfasst sowohl Tätigkeiten in der Administration/Organisation für GSR am MGIMO als auch in der Lehre. Hauptaufgaben im Bereich der Administration sind die Organisation von öffentlichen Veranstaltungen (Lecture Series, Bewerbung des Programms am MGIMO), die Organisation des Bewerbungs- und Auswahlverfahrens für den Jahrgang 2015/16 sowie die Vertretung des Programms am MGIMO.

Schwerpunkt der Lehrtätigkeit bildet die Durchführung eines begleitenden Tutoriums zum Seminar „Wirtschaftsstandort Deutschland“. Inhaltlich sollte sich das Tutorium um folgende Themenbereiche drehen: Soziale Marktwirtschaft, Zielgrößen deutscher Marktwirtschaft, EU und Globalisierung sowie Wirtschaftskrisen in der EU. Im Rahmen des Begleitstudiums absolvieren die Studierenden ein Praktikum mit Deutschland-Bezug. Aufgabe des Tutors/der Tutorin ist es, die Studierenden intensiv bei der Suche nach Praktikumsplätzen, der Erstellung von Bewerbungsunterlagen und während des Bewerbungsprozesses zu unterstützten.

Ein PC-Arbeitsplatz steht im Büro der FU Berlin am MGIMO zur Verfügung.

Erwünscht sind:

• Mindestens Bachelorabschluss in Volkswirtschaftslehre oder mit Wirtschaftsbezug (Deutschland);
• muttersprachliche Deutschkenntnisse;
• sehr gute Englischkenntnisse;
• Russischkenntnisse auf Arbeitsniveau;
• Erfahrungen in Lehre und/oder Projektorganisation.

Für die o.g. Tätigkeit wird eine monatliche Stipendienrate in Höhe von 1325,- € vergeben. Zudem steht eine kostenlose Unterkunft (Wohnheim des MGIMO direkt bei der Hochschule) in Moskau zur Verfügung. Die Reisekosten werden einmalig in Form einer Reisekostenpauschale in Höhe von 275,- € erstattet. Der genaue Beginn der Tätigkeit wird im Rahmen einer Übergabe festgelegt.
