mit je 65 Prozent der regelmäßigen wöchentlichen Arbeitszeit (zzt. 25,87 Stunden/Woche) befristet für die Dauer von 3 Jahren zu besetzen. Die Entgeltzahlung erfolgt nach Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L. Die Stelle soll der Qualifizierung des wissenschaftlichen Nachwuchses dienen, erwartet wird daher die Anfertigung einer Dissertation.

Im Forschungsprojekt „Sind Regionalorganisationen ansteckend?“ (Comparative Regional Organizations Project, CROP) arbeiten Prof. Dr. Anja Jetschke, Dr. Patrick Theiner und eine Reihe von Kooperationspartnern in Europa und den USA an der Frage, wie Ähnlichkeiten im institutionellen Design zwischen Regionalorganisationen entstehen und wie sich bestimmte institutionelle Merkmale durch Diffusion verbreiten. Zu diesem Zweck sammelt das Projekt Gründungs- und Änderungsverträge von Regionalorganisationen und analysiert sie mit vorrangig quantitativen Methoden. CROP wird durch eine Einzelförderung der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft für drei Jahre finanziert. Ihr Profil:

• sehr guter Studienabschluss im Fach Politikwissenschaft, erwünscht ist ein Schwerpunkt in den Internationalen Beziehungen
• Vorkenntnisse von Geschichte und Aufbau internationaler Institutionen
• Forschungsinteresse an Regionalorganisationen und Diffusionsprozessen
• Gute Kenntnisse quantitativer Methoden und Programme (v.a. R, Stata, SPSS)

Aufgaben: Unterstützung der laufenden empirischen Forschungsarbeiten der Abteilung, insbesondere bei den Projekten zur Erforschung von Spendenverhalten und Fundraising sowie Medien in der Weimarer Republik. Die Aufgaben umfassen vor allem die Pflege und den Aufbau unterschiedlicher Datensätze, kleine Auswertungen mit Hilfe von STATA sowie Literaturrecherchen.

Voraussetzungen: Die Bewerber/innen benötigen neben einem BA-Abschluss in Volkswirtschaftslehre oder verwandten Wissenschaften (Psychologie, Soziologie, Mathematik, Informatik etc.) sehr gute Excel-Kenntnisse, gute STATA-Kenntnisse, grundlegende Statistik-kenntnisse, die Fähigkeit zur Teamarbeit, sehr gute Deutsch- und Englischkenntnisse. Von Vorteil sind Erfahrungen in der Bearbeitung großer Datensätze und Programmierkenntnisse.

Das Deutsche Institut für Menschenrechte e. V. ist die Nationale Menschenrechtsinstitution Deutschlands. Es trägt als unabhängige Einrichtung zur Förderung und zum Schutz der Menschenrechte in und durch Deutschland bei. Zu seinen Aufgaben gehören Politikberatung, Menschenrechtsbildung, Information und Dokumentation, anwendungsorientierte Forschung zu menschenrechtlichen Themen sowie die Zusammenarbeit mit internationalen Organisationen. Das Institut sucht ab 15. Februar 2015 für den Bereich Wirtschaft und Menschenrechte

eine wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin/einen wissenschaftlichen Mitarbeiter (bis zu 80%)

Ihre Aufgaben:

Im Rahmen eines Forschungs- und Beratungsvorhaben beteiligen Sie sich an der Forschung zur Rolle von Nationalen Menschenrechtsinstitutionen im Politikfeld Wirtschaft und Menschenrechte, beraten Akteure der deutschen Entwicklungspolitik, vor allem das Bundesministerium für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung (BMZ) und Durchführungsinstitutionen im Auftrag des BMZ, zu entwicklungspolitisch relevanten Aspekten im Politikfeld. Sie beantworten, oft kurzfristig und kleinteilig, Beratungsanfragen des BMZ, bereiten relevante Fachliteratur auf und beteiligen sich an der Organisation von Veranstaltungen zu Wirtschaft und Menschenrechten und den angrenzenden Fragen aus Menschenrechts- und Entwicklungspolitik. Sie unterstützen die Forschung und die verschiedenen Publikationen des Vorhabens zu Nationalen Menschenrechtsinstitutionen als Akteure für die Umsetzung der UN-Leitprinzipien für Wirtschaft und Menschenrechte und treiben die Netzwerkarbeit des Vorhabens mit der Zivilgesellschaft, Wirtschaft, Wissenschaft und anderen Nationalen Menschenrechtsinstitutionen voran.

Am Institut für Politikwissenschaft der Fakultät für Politikwissenschaft

Die Professur soll in Forschung und Lehre Österreichische Politik in europäischer und/oder komparativer Perspektive abdecken. Aufgaben:

Area(s) of responsibility:
The Marie Curie Initial Training Network PRIMO develops innovative research and training in the field of International Relations, in particular with respect to the growing importance of Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa in international politics and the global economy. We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher with experience in theoretical and methodological work on world politics. Objective of the research is to develop an analytical framework for the study of regional powers in close cooperation with the University of Oxford and other network partners. The ER will work on concepts and theoretical assumptions concerning the interactions of non-state actors with regional powers and the effects of international institutions on the rising states. He/she is also expected to contribute to the discussion and dissemination of the analytical framework and to its application in doctoral training and research.

We are seeking to appoint an Associate Professor in International Security who can provide research leadership in her/his respective field, participate in large-scale collaborative grant applications, and contribute to teaching, administration and outreach.

St Antony’s College proposes to appoint a full-time fixed-term Senior Research Fellow in the International Relations of the Middle East. The Fellow will teach on the MPhil in Modern Middle Eastern Studies, act as a supervisor or co-supervisor for postgraduate theses, serve as an examiner and contribute to research in their specialist field.

This is a fixed term post for five years and will carry with it appointment as a Governing Body Fellow at the College, and Fellowship in the Middle East Centre. The post is available from 1 October 2015 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Candidates should hold a doctorate in the International Relations of the Middle East and have specialist expertise in one or more fields of politics and international relations of the Middle East, focusing on one or more of the following regions: the Arabic-speaking world, Turkey, Iran or Israel.

Applications are invited for a fixed-term appointment as Lecturer in Political Science and Sociology at NUI Galway. The Lecturer will have primary teaching and supervision responsibilities in the undergraduate (BA) and postgraduate (MA, MLitt, PhD) programmes in the School of Political Science and Sociology. The successful candidate will be expected to be active in research, its organisation and supervision. He or she will contribute to curriculum development and the administration of programmes of the discipline.

The successful applicant will be expected to teach primarily in environmental sociology, as well as contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate courses in social research methodologies. His or her area of research specialisation should be in environmental sociology/politics. Expertise in inter- and transdisciplinary sustainability research (or a willingness to acquire such expertise) would be particularly advantageous.

Hosting in excess of 1,000 students, the School is one of the largest academic units in the university. Applications are invited for a Research Fellow to work with Professor Sultan Barakat and Dr Kenneth Bush undertaking high quality commissioned research/consultancies in the specialist field of post-war recovery. You will have a PhD in a discipline relevant to Post-war Reconstruction and Development; and a postgraduate degree in a relevant area, (such as post-war recovery, conflict resolution, peacebuilding/security studies, international relations, etc). Published work in a related field would also be an advantage.

Field-experience in development related work, preferably in conflict-affected countries, combining analytical work and practical involvement is desirable. Broad general knowledge of the workings of international aid and development organisations, the ability to bid for research/consultancy work and to produce reports under pressure is vital, as are good management, organisation, advocacy and communications skills. Fluency in oral and written English and good computer skills are essential.

The Role

The School of Politics and International Relations is seeking to appoint an ambitious and highly motivated Lecturer with a research profile in the area of international relations.

We would especially welcome applications from candidates with expertise in international political economy, diplomacy, human rights, conflict and security, and the foreign and security policy of the United States. The post is full time on an ongoing basis.

The candidate will be expected to make a significant contribution to the School’s existing strong research culture, research impact and a high level of student engagement. The Person

You will hold a first degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area, together with a PhD or equivalent in a relevant discipline.

The School of Law is seeking to appoint a research leader with an exceptional international reputation in the broad field of transnational crime and security to complement its existing research strengths. The successful candidate will enhance capacity in one or more of the following areas: international and comparative criminology; counter-terrorism law and security; crime and migration; people trafficking; money-laundering; transnational corporate crime; and international penal systems and human rights. The successful candidate will contribute to the international profile and standing of the Centre for Criminal Justice Studies, which is one of the School’s research centres, and contribute to the Security and Justice cross-disciplinary research agenda.
